Richard is the founder and owner of BTBS. His passion for helping others succeed, coupled with his own business and personal background, make him uniquely qualified to provide an unmatched level of service to BTBS' clients.
Upon receiving his BBA in Finance and Real Estate from Baylor University, Richard worked as an equity research analyst at Academy Capital Management in Waco, Texas. His responsibilities included active portfolio management, quantitative and fundamental research, daily trading, and served on the three-member investment committee. After working for Academy for two years, Richard had the opportunity to become the CFO of Agency Rating Systems, Inc., an insurance software provider. While at ARS, he was instrumental in moving the company’s product lines from DOS to Windows operating systems and helped grow annual revenues by 600%. He was with ARS for a total of 17 years, and served as president from 1995 to 2009.
Richard realized in 2009 that his heart was leading him toward a new business. It was then that he opened Bolgiano Tax and Business Services, offering personal and corporate tax services as well as business consulting. Given that many of his tax clients also had questions about how and where their money was invested, Richard expanded his business in 2012 by opening a separate investment management company, Bolgiano Capital Management.
Richard is married to Melissa, and has two sons, Grant and Blake. His sons are both Midlothian Panthers, of which Richard is a proud supporter. Over the years, he has coached numerous youth baseball and football teams, and he is active in the First Baptist Church of Midlothian, where he teaches an adult bible study class. Richard is a member of the Midlothian Rotary Club and has served on the Ellis County Appraisal Review Board.
